Labriego is a masculine noun, this refers to a person whose job is to work and cultivate the land in a rural environment. The RAE defines it as a rustic farmer. 

The origin of this comes from the verb <<labrar>> which means to plow or remove the land to sow <<iego>> which indicates relationship, belonging and origin. 

A labriego is what is commonly known as a peasant, since this is the person who develops rural activities, which allow the development of agriculture and livestock.

These people are usually the main component of countries that support their economy thanks to agriculture and livestock. 

These people can work independently in places that they call conucos or plots, or they can work in companies that focus on these areas in an industrialized way.

This noun can also be used in the feminine gender and would be labriega.
